Aigua Clara Organic Produce in Alberic

According to a flyer I've located after losing it last June, there is a supplier of organic produce not far away.

The Aigua Clara cooperative, in Alberic, is a group of consumers who got together to look for an alternative to modern consumerism; a consumerism that has led to the closure of small shops, the reduction of choice the to the consumer and a product offering that contains detectable levels of pesticides and other contaminants.

The cooperative was formed around the experience of a few farmers who started organic production 20 years ago, when traditional Valencian farming methods were becoming eroded. Drawing on their experience they have taught other farmers organic management techniques and those farmers now contribute to the group of producers in the cooperative.

In the Aigua Clara shop, you can find all sorts of organic food; fresh fruit and vegetables provided mainly by their producers; a great variety of packaged foodstuffs; beauty products and products for the house; including cleaning products, paints, furniture etc.

They say that all the products that go to their shop are supervised by a Quality Control Commission, which monitors the source of the product, its composition and treatment.

As a cooperative, they are not just about selling products. They want to be a point of reference for organic concerns, provide information, and have an educational role. For these reasons, they offer additional services in Aigua Clara: chiropractor, nutritional advice etc. they also organise courses and lectures around the subjects that most interest their members.
