Benicassim 2010 festival dates are 15, 16, 17 and 18 July 2010.

The latest wave of acts has been confirmed for FIB 2010, the Benicassim Festival.

The FIB 2010 line-up so far looks like this:-

Gorillaz, The Prodigy, Kasabian, Vampire Weekend, Ray Davies, Lily Allen, Leftfield, Dizzee Rascal, Broken Bells, Charlotte Gainsbourg, The Courteeners, The Cribs, DJ Shadow, Echo and the Bunnymen, Ellie Goulding, Foals, Four Tet, Goldfrapp, Hot Chip, Ian Brown, Ilegales, Julian Casablancas, Klaxons, Love of Lesbian, Mumford and Sons, Peter Hook, The Hacienda, PiL, The Specials, The Sunday Drivers, Sr Chinarro, Calvin Harris and loads more

The Prodigy, the electro/punk band - always memorable for the famous "Firestarter", have made a comeback with their album 'Invaders must Die'.

The Specials (were known as The Special AKA) started out in the 70's with ska music tracks such as 'Ghost Town' and 'A Message to you Rudy'.

PIL (Public Image Ltd) formed in the 70's with John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) following the break-up of the Sex Pistols and was resurrected in 2009 and the release of ALIFE 2009.

Ian Brown, originally of The Stone Roses released his latest solo album in 2009 'My Way'.

Kasabian, the indie rock band formed in the late 90's played Benicassim FIB in 2005 and are making a return this year.

Dizzee Rascal the young pop/rapper/songwriter plays Benicassim this year for the first time.

The FIB Heineken 2010 festival (FIB stands for Festival Internacional de Benicassim) is due to hit Benicassim on the 15th of July through to the 18th July 2010, offering a star-studded line up of internationally recognised bands.

Each year a brilliant line-up is organised - last year, for 2009, just a few of the artists were:- Oasis, Kings of Leon, Paul Weller, Franz Ferdinand, Lily Allen, The Killers and many more!

Local Information

Benicassim first became a tourist destination over a hundred years ago. Its fine sand, gently sloping beaches, clean waters and numerous facilities continue to shape a resort chosen by thousands of people. The Benicasim district has much more besides. With the backdrop of the "Desert de les Palmes" natural park, there are an endless number of places worth visiting. Culture and leisure, activity and rest are simultaneous possibilities.

Where to Stay

Benicassim is a holiday town with plenty of hotels and apartments. Unfortunately most of these are booked up a long time in advance.

Valencia capital, located about one hour south of Benicassim, offers another option, with numerous hotels catering for all needs at competitive prices.

IMPORTANT - NAMES ON TICKETS

We've had a number of enquiries from readers asking about what to do if the name on your ticket is not your own name (e.g. if you've bought the ticket from someone else). We asked the organisers (FiberFib) and this is what they told us:

"Names on tickets cannot be changed, but this is only a security meassure, the important thing of tikets is the barcode (it needs to be validated at the entrance). However, if the person who is going to the festival is not the one that figures on the ticket, it is convenient when attending the festival to take a document with an authorisation from the real purchaser (not necessarily a special authorisation) and a copy of his passport. This will help to check the purchase in case any complication arises."
