Christmas Market, Castellon de la Plana

The City hall of Callosa d’en Sarrià organizes the Christmas Market 2006. The market will be Sunday 17th of December in the "Plaza del Convento".  All the products will be typical of Christmas. Clothes, crafts, books, traditional gastronomy.  There will be also many activities for children. Bethlehem and living Bethlehem. The activities will be free and there will be also gifts and prizes for the children.

The capital of La Plana is the venue this week, as a run up to the forthcoming Christmas festivities, for various ludic, festive and musical activities, which can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

Between 12th and 17th December, in the main streets of Los Caballeros and the Plaza de las Aulas in Castellón de la Plana, an attractive mediaeval market will be set up in which there will also be crafts activities, gastronomic tastings, passacaglia and mediaeval entertainment shows, with the collaboration of de Els Cavallers de la Conquesta (The Knights of the Conquest), the Knights Templar militia, the drums of the Brotherhood of Santa Magdalena and the Queen Na Violant d'Hongria and her court of honour.

Also on Saturday 16th the fourth year of the Fireta de Santa Llúcia (Saint Lucia Fair), located in Plaza de Mallorca y Obispo Beltrán, will be held, and the Laughter Festival, held in Plaza de Santa Clara, in collaboration with ALCER will take place.

In the musical section, on Friday 15th December the Independent Musicians of Castellón Season "Sons" ("Sounds") will be held, with performances by RG Morrison and Thirty Pounds of Bone, in the Municipal Arts Centre at 8pm with no entrance charge.

And between 16th and 20th December, the Forum Babel, in the street known as Calle Guitarrista Tárrega, will be offering Musica en Babel (Music in Babel), with a special Christmas hearing of the flute by Mª José Peiró at 7pm on Saturday 16th, and on Wednesday 20th a hearing and the presentation of the record "De cantinas y porteños" by Club 964, by the members of the group and Juanjo Carratalà at 7:30pm.

The XV Nadal a Castelló (15th Christmas in Castelló), includes performances by, on 14th December, the Gregoriano Resurrexit Choir, on Saturday 16th, the Vicent Ripollés Choir and, on Monday 18th, the Lyrical Gala in the Municipal Arts Centre.

Lastly, the Dávalos Fletcher Foundation will be offering, on 15th December, a concert in the exhibition hall of the foundation, by the Cor Pentecosta and the Orquesta de Cámara de la UJI- Camareta 94 (UJI Chamber Orchestra) at 7pm.
