The 33rd America's Cup sailing tournament has been retured to the waters off Valencia for 2010.
The first race is scheduled from the Port of Valencia for Monday 8th February 2010 and the second on Wednesday 10th February. If required, a third race will take place on Friday 12th February.
The America's Cup is the most esteemed event in the sailing world. It all began in August 1851 when the schooner America won a race around the Isle of Wight, England, for what was known as the 100 Guinea Cup. In 1857 the America syndicate donated the cup to its home club, the New York Yacht Club. In becoming the cup’s trustee, the NYYC promised to accept challenges from any other club wishing to compete for it.
