Socialist government's immigration policy apparently in ruins

The Socialist Government’s immigration policy also appeared to be in ruins after it was revealed that it repatriated the first wave of Senegalese immigrants back to their own country, handcuffed and in chains.

Senegal refused to accept them stating that their treatment was against all concept of human rights. For the PP, Angel Acebes stated: “It takes Senegal to give the Zapatero Government a lesson in human rights.”

It was also revealed yesterday that Germany was ‘extremely upset’ at the Socialist Government’s immigration policy. Wolfgang Schauble, the German Interior minister stated yesterday in Brussels that the Socialist rules in Spain that allow an immigrant to be set free after 40 days if he or she has not been repatriated ‘is an open invitation to the Mafias of the world’.
